Blake Shelton




Blake Shelton began his career in 2001 with the release of his debut single and album both titled 'Austin', with the single staying at number one for 5 weeks on the Billboard hot country songs. He has since gone onto relase another four ablums and has just released an ep disk at the beginning of 2010. He has had 5 number one's on the country charts from these albums. Miranda Lambert



Miranda Lambert released her first album in 2005 after finishing 3rd on 'Nashville Star', a country music talent show, in 2003. The album titled 'Kerosene' debuted at number 1 on the Billboard top country album charts and the album produced 4 top 40 singles on the country charts. Miranda's second album ' Crazy Ex Girlfriend' was released in 2007 and included the single 'More Like Her' Her third and most recent album was released in late 2009 and is titled 'Revolution'.Watch Miranda perform one of the songs from her latest album called 'The House That Built Me' below.

  • Miranda has been dating fellow country singer Blake Shelton since 2006 and has written song with him that appear on her new album. She also co wrote and dueted with him on a song for his 2008 album 'Startin' Fires' called 'Bare Skin Rug.
  • Miranda is only the third female singer to have three records debut at number 1 on the Billboard country album charts.

Kellie Pickler

Kellie Pickler started her career when she auditioned for the fifth season of American Idol. She finished in 6th place and then she signed a record deal in 2006. Her first album 'Small Town Girl' was released in late 2006. The album contains very personal songs such as 'I Wonder' which she co-wrote about her childhood without her mother. There are also upbeat songs such as her first single 'Red High Heels'. Kellie released her second album in 2008 which produced her first top 10 hit 'Best Days Of Your Life' which she co wrote with Taylor Swift. Listen to 'I Wonder' below.

Reba McEntire



Reba McEntire has been on the country music scene since the 1970s and was the most successful female recording artist in country music during the 1980s and 1990s, where she had 22 number one hits. Reba started singing young and was in a band with her brother Pake and sister Susie. They were known as 'The Singing McEntires' and would sing at rodeo events. Reba also stared in her own sitcom which aired from 2001 to 200. She has also writen an autobiography which was published in 1994 (as I said to the right I don't really read books, however this is one book that I have read from cover to cover).   • During the 1980s and 1990s Reba released five gold albums, six platinum albums, two double-platinum albums, four triple-platinum albums, a quadruple-platinum album, and a quintuple-platinum album, for certified album sales of 33.5 million over the 20-year period.
  • Reba joined Kelly Clarkson to take part in Crossroads, a show were a country singer or band sings with another artist or band, and they perform each others songs and also cover other artists songs. They also then toured around America together on the tour '2 Worlds 2 Voices'. Reba and Kelly also recorded a version of Kelly's song 'Because of You' which appears on Reba's album of duets.

LeAnn Rimes




LeAnn Rimes is the person who got me to like country music. She started her career very young and by the age of 14 she had won 2 Grammy awards. LeAnn has released 10 studio albums and is still only 27 years old. She was 13 when she first started to release music and was the youngest country singer since Tanya Tucker in the early 70s. LeAnn has also crossed over into the pop music scene and released a more pop album in 2006 titled 'whatever We Wanna'. This album was only released outside on the United States and Canada. LeAnn also had a major part in the sound track of the film for Coyote Ugly and appears in the film performing her hit 'Can't Fight The Moonlight'. LeAnn's first single was titled 'Blue' and was originally written for Patsy Cline however she sadly died before she recorded the song. Lady Antebellum




Lady Antebellum are a relatively new country band formed in 2006.The band has three members Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott (who both sing lead and background vocals) and Dave Haywood (who mainly plays guitar, piano and background vocals). They have released two albums, the first was released in 2008 and was called 'Lady Antebellum' and their second was released at the beginning of 2010 and had the same title as the lead single 'Need You Now'. The album has reached number one on the billboard top 100 albums and is currently number one on the country charts. Keith Urban



Keith Urban was born in New Zealand, and moved to Australia when he was young.He started releasing music in the early 90s and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1992 however he did not start releasing any solo album until 1999. He has won too many awards to name and is an amazingly talented artist. Here is a song from his album Love Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing released in 2006.
